How To Start A Manufacturing Company In 2014

Thanks to an ever decreasing amount of viable employment opportunities over the last few years, hundreds of thousands of people all over the world have decided to start their own businesses and create their own income streams. There are obviously many risks in choosing their route, but the potential rewards often make it worthwhile. If you agree, and you feel that making your mark in the manufacturing industry would be a good idea, this article will fill you in on everything you need know to ensure you stand the best chance of achieving success.

Obviously, you’ll need to find a product or products for which there is a large market first, but once that is done, following the steps listed below this paragraph should make the rest easy. At the end of the day, you’re going to have to work hard to get where you want to be. That said, so long as you have some good information and the right attitude, there’s no reason why you can’t replicate the success achieved by so many other individuals since the financial collapse occurred in late 2008.

1. Registering Your Company

Before you do anything else, you’ll need to register your company with the relevant tax authority in whichever country you reside. For the UK, all this means is getting in touch with HMRC and filling in a few forms. For the most part, you should be able to complete this in a single day, and then all you have to do is wait for them to send the paperwork through.

2. Creating Your Business Plan

This is one of the most important steps you need to take when starting a new company, as it’s your business plan that will attract investors or convince financial institutions to loan you any cash you may need. Learning how to write a business plan is simple, and so it shouldn’t take you much longer than a couple of days.

3. Raising Startup Capital

So long as you have a decent credit history and your business plan is tight, there’s no reason why your bank won’t offer you a loan to help with startup costs. However, if you’re refused, there are still a number of different avenues open to you. Search online for startup funding ideas, and you’ll come across a wealth of relevant information.

4. Finding A Suitable Business Premises

How you select your premises should depend on the nature of your business and how much space you’re going to need. If you’re only manufacturing small items that don’t require a lot of machinery, you can opt for a smaller building. However, if you aim to compete with firms like Coleshill Injection Moulding, you’re obviously going to need a more substantial space.

So there it is guys. After making your way through all those steps, the last thing you’ll need to think about is employing dedicated staff members with all the experience necessary to complete work unsupervised. For that, you should probably use internet job boards, as local job centres are useless.

Good luck with your new venture!
