Forget about the PS4 and the XBox. If you want the ultimate gaming experience, it just has to be through a PC. Ask any hardcore gamer and they will all tell you the same – a high-performance PC knocks the socks off the rest of the competition.
But, if you are new to the scene, what should you look for in a great gaming computer? We’re going to go through some of the basics and show you everything you need for the ultimate PC gaming experience.
Go for a desktop
You can get gaming laptops, of course – and they are excellent devices for playing games. But, they just aren’t flexible enough. It can be tough to replace hardware and chips unless you have a little computer engineering knowledge. Your best bet is to look at a desktop PC. They are more powerful, far more adaptable, and work out easier on your wallet, too. Sure, for a high spec computer you will still be spending a fortune. But, you get a lot more for your money when you avoid the laptop market.
Invest big bucks in a monitor
The next step is to buy yourself an excellent monitor. Don’t skimp on it, either. There are some amazing displays out there at the moment, and they can help suck you into the worlds of the games you play. Look into 4K monitors – you can pick some up for a good price right now. And, of course, you can always use your TV set if it has the right sockets in the back.
Go big on graphics
The graphics card is the single most important part of your PC gaming experience. If you don’t have a good enough chip, you just won’t get the incredible graphics that are on offer with PCs. Brand new games need the best cards you can buy, or you will find it can affect the overall look and performance of the match. So, go big on your graphics card, and make sure you regularly update it to maximise its performance.
Accessories and add-ons
Accessories will also make your PC gaming experience a lot more enjoyable. First of all, get a headset – it will let you communicate with people all around the world while playing MMO games. And, there is nothing more satisfying than screaming with joy when you take out a fellow player who thinks they are a big cheese. Your comfort is important, too, so look into gaming chairs and find one that is suitable. Finally, invest a little in a good PC sound system or headphones. To truly immerse yourself in the games world, make sure you can hear every snapping branch and footstep coming towards you.
PC tuning
Finally, keep your PC in optimum condition. It’s best to use a gaming PC for games only, as the more software you add, the worse it will perform. Yes, it can be a lot of money to have as a stand-alone gaming machine. But, the more background programs you have hogging resources, the worse you games will play.
