How to Get Fit Quickly and Realisticly

Written by ClickHowTo Team

Sometimes we all let ourselves go a bit, and this can often leave us feeling somewhat low. That said, there’s nothing quite like making the decision to get back into shape, so opting to draw on some self motivation and electing to take control of your fitness and health can make more difference to your mental state than you might imagine.

It’s knowing where to start that many people struggle with, and with that in mind i’ve decided to write this article to fill you in on some of the most realistic ways of achieving optimum fitness in the quickest way possible. I say realistic because training of 16 hours per day probably isn’t on the cards, is it?

Set Yourself Small Goals

Firstly, you need to spend a few moments working out exactly what results you want to obtain by taking on this new fitness regime. Are you looking to lose a particular amount of weight? Do you want to be able to run for a specific distance? Questions like this are important as they’ll help you to set small goals that will help to encourage you along the way.

Let’s say you want to be able to run for two miles without stopping. This could take a while to achieve if you’re very unfit at the moment, so setting yourself a goal of running half a mile might be a good starting point. Then, when you reach this milestone, simply set another goal of running a full mile and so on. You’re progress should become obvious.

Hiring A Personal Trainer

If you’ve got the time (and the money), hiring a personal trainer can be a fantastic way of reaching your fitness goals as quickly as possible. Most personal trainers will have an industry specific qualification, meaning they know all there is to know about helping you reach your goals.

I recently used a company called Bottomline Fitness and found that their personal trainers were perfectly suited to my requirements (and very reasonably priced). Within only a matter of weeks i’d reached my target weight and was able to train for over half an hour longer each day (just a little goal I set myself).

Eat And Drink Healthily

You won’t get very far with your training if you follow it up with a Burger King every night, so ensuring you’ve got some healthy food in the cupboards is essential. Your personal trainer will probably be in a position to advise you on which foods are best for the sort of exercise you’re undertaking.

As well as this, it’s important that you stop drinking so much alcohol – larger especially. You’ve heard the term “beer belly” before, right?

So anyway, there you have it my friends. If you follow the information i’ve provided to the letter, there really is no reason why you shouldn’t be down to your ideal weight and fit before Christmas – just remember to avoid all those mince pies, or you’ll have to do it all over again in January.
