Every person shows a number of different body postures that say a lot about how they are feeling. Some are more obvious than others, such as jumping for joy, but many are harder to understand. Some people are able to detect subtle posture, but it’s a skill that isn’t easy to master.
Here are some to become aware of:
Hands behind head: Could be an expression of confidence or superiority.
Crossed arms: Could Indicate a person is been defensive.
Tilted head: Might suggest a person is bored, tired, or lost in thought.
Hands on hips: Could indicate impatience or possibly even anger.
Eyes looking upwards: Might suggest that the person is attempting to dominate a conversation.
Looking at your lips: Usually a sign of strong romantic attachment or intent.
Signs of insecure body language:
– Lack of eye contact
– Biting finger nails
– Blushing / sweating
Signs of confident body language:
– Good eye contact (not staring)
– Standing up straight
– Chest projected outwards
The majority of body-language gestures are contagious. For example, when you look at someone who is smiling, you often mirror the same emotion. Another example is when you see someone yawn; you’re very likely to also yawn. Find out how to detect a liar.
