It can be too easy to get drawn into “lose weight fast” schemes. We’re all looking for a quick fix, to get fit and healthy. Unfortunately, fad diets and slimming pills aren’t the way to do it. In fact, some can even be dangerous. If you want to lose weight this summer, then it is possible. You’re going to need some motivation, determination and some of these awesome tips.
Drink Tons of Water
Did you know that those hunger pangs you get could actually be dehydration? Many of us think that we’re hungry when we’re actually just thirsty. It can be too easy to just eat when we feel that rumbling stomach. However, you’re better off drinking water instead. You may be surprised at how quickly that hunger pang goes away. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and you’ll notice the difference it has on your waistline.
Plenty of Protein
If you want to lose weight then you need to be eating plenty of protein. There are fad diets out there which tell you to rely solely on protein and to cut out other food groups. That isn’t healthy! You need a well-balanced diet if you want to maintain that weight loss. Up your intake of eggs, lean meat and poultry, by making it the main focus of every meal. If you’re vegan then there are other ways to get protein into your diet, too.
Cut Down Carbs
Again, there are some fad diets that tell you to cut out carbs altogether. Not healthy! If you do want to lose weight, then you only need to cut down on the carbs. You can get rid of all the unhealthy carbohydrates completely – that won’t do you any harm! Steer clear of bread, white potatoes, and pasta. Instead, opt for plain rice, quinoa, and sweet potato.
Lots of Leafy Greens
There’s something so fabulous about adding leafy greens into your diet. It can make you feel better while also helping you to lose weight. If protein is the main focus of your meal then leafy greens should be what bulks it out. With a tiny portion of good carbs to go with it. Spinach will become your lifesaver during this weight loss time.
You can’t just change your eating habits and hope to lose weight. If you really want to make a difference, then you’re going to need to exercise. Here are some quick and easy ways to squeeze in a daily workout:
- Walk to the Shops – Don’t get in the car next time you need to get something from the shop. Walk instead! If it’s too far away then at least walk to the bus stop, instead of just to your driveway.
- Cycle to Work – Invest in one of the stunning Shinola bicycles and ride to work in style. This is an excellent cardio exercise that can shed those pounds.
- Home Workouts – There are so many different ways of working out at home. You can invest in a Kinect and some exercise games. You can follow instructional videos on YouTube. Just set aside 20-30 minutes each day. It’s not difficult.
These handy tips and tricks should make it so much easier to lose weight. You don’t need to starve yourself or take potentially harmful tablets. Simply make a few lifestyle changes and watch your body adapt.
